There’s only one of you
MHL counselling is a confidential and professional service. Clients would meet with the counsellor in a safe environment, in order to talk about their problems, enabling them to look at many aspects of their life, their relationships, and themselves in a way that they may not have considered, or been able to face before.
Through it together
MHL realises that being in a relationship can have it’s ups and downs but are ultimately an important part of a happy and healthy life. Unfortunately relationships do not come with a handbook and therefore sometimes we need help in maintaining a healthy relationship.
Putting the pieces together
It is important for us to experience love, sex and fulfilling relationships. Numerous studies have confirmed that sex is good for the body and mind, helping us live stronger, longer and happier. Therefore it is vital we take our sexual health seriously and take the appropriate steps to maintaining this if problems begin to appear.
How Do I Begin Counselling?
Whether you are coming to MHL Counselling for personal therapy or couples counselling, your first meeting with the counsellor will last about 50 minutes. Together, you and MHL will discuss your hopes in therapy where you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about counselling and the psychotherapy process.
MHL Counselling provides professional counselling and therapy to anyone over the age of 18. We work on a completely confidential basis and you can find the details of our confidentiality agreement here.
If you would like to book an initial consultation then please either contact us through the form on each main area of therapy or through our contact section.
About Michelle Harrison-Lee
Michelle’s (MHL) expertise draws on a wide range of research, approaches and experience. In the early stages of her career she undertook additional training in theoretical models related to, relational psychodynamic and systemic methodologies. Then eventually expanding her training to incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) . This is predominantly used when treating clients for their psychosexual health care concerns, though is also used in other therapies.
MHL offers a multidimensional therapeutic approach by incorporating several different modes of training (intra-psychic, intra-personal, inter-personal and behavioural approaches). She works with a diverse spectrum of clients, whose presenting concerns will take a variety of forms. She interweaves several grounded theory principles and methods to suit the preferences, personality and concerns of the client/s. These various theories and approaches can be offered to the individual or to a couple, dependent on circumstance.
It is important to recognise that these theories and approaches are just strategies. However, it is the unique relationship between the therapist and the client/s that makes the difference between whether these theories and approaches actually work or not.
Caring & Friendly Environment for Clients:
At MHL counselling it is important for all clients to feel welcomed into a warm and caring environment where confidentiality and privacy are assured.
It is also MHL policy to ensure that the individuality of the client is respected, regardless of gender, race, religion, age, culture, education and sexuality.
