Michelle’s (MHL) expertise draws on a wide range of research, approaches and experience. In the early stages of her career she undertook additional training in theoretical models related to, relational psychodynamic and systemic methodologies. Then eventually expanding her training to incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) . This is predominantly used when treating clients for their psychosexual health care concerns, though is also used in other therapies.
MHL offers a multidimensional therapeutic approach by incorporating several different modes of training (intra-psychic, intra-personal, inter-personal and behavioural approaches). She works with a diverse spectrum of clients, whose presenting concerns will take a variety of forms. She interweaves several grounded theory principles and methods to suit the preferences, personality and concerns of the client/s. These various theories and approaches can be offered to the individual or to a couple, dependent on circumstance.
It is important to recognise that these theories and approaches are just strategies. However, it is the unique relationship between the therapist and the client/s that makes the difference between whether these theories and approaches actually work or not.

At MHL counselling it is important for all clients to feel welcomed into a warm and caring environment where confidentiality and privacy are assured.
